Saptapuri Amabashya is observed in Bhadrab Amabashya day, mainly it observed in Jagannath Temple Puri.Saptapuri Tada is offered to Shree Jagannath on this special day, Saptapuri is sent to Alam Chandi temple from the Jagannatha temple for bhoga. The temple of Alam Chandi is connected with the Saptapuri puja of Lord Jagannatha temple.




Satapuri ( Saptapuri ) is a kind of sweet recipe made by stuffing variety of sweets (cottage cheese and coconut gratings etc.) in seven layers of puri and then frying in ghee. This is offered to Jagannatha on the amabasya of lunar month Bhadra. In many homes, the item is also prepared and offered to the deities.
