Adhar Pana of Lord Jagannath
‘Adhar Pana‘. After offering the pot will be broken by Sevayat on Ratha ( Chariot ) . The Adhar Pana is not for devotees ( Vakta ) said by Pandit Surya Narayan Ratha Sharma. It is only for the God and Goddess who has stayed on chariot on the period Of Rathyatra to guard Lord Jagannath, Subhadra and Balavadra. They are said ‘Rath Rakhyak‘. For that, Devotees should not take the ‘Adhar Pana’ Prashad .
As per a ritual, one-meter high nine large open mouth barrel-shaped pitchers full of the drinks were placed before the three deities on the chariots (three each) which touched the lips of the deities. The drinks are popularly called adharpana.
