Dasamula – Medicines for Lord Jagananth

Dasamula, a special medicine is to be administered to deities for their cure from illness. The medicines are prepared from herbal ingredients ( belacheli, gambahri, pateli, Fanafana, agabathu, krusnaparni, Shalaparni, Ankranty, Pateli and labingkoli) by the Royal Physician ( Raja Baidyas ) . After taking Dasamula, triad ( Lord Jagannath, Lord Balavadra and Maa Subhadra) has cured from the day of Ashadha Krusna Paksha Dasami ( 10th day of Ashadha Krusna Paksha Dasami ) . On this perticular day ( Ashadha Krusna Paksha Dasami ), the Daitapaties set the deities on stone pedestal called chakaa. After installing of deities on Chakaa ( Chakaabije ), Barafi, milk ( khira ), cream ( sara ), Cheese ( chenna ), liaa, Mango ( amba ), Jackfruit ( Panasha ), Muga, Coconut ( Nadia ) are offred to Lord .
