Democracy can precede progress and function efficiently if the right to vote is exercise judiciously. But Govt. of India observes that young people of more than 18 years of age not taking much interest in their voting rights. From 2011 onwards it was decided to encourage young people to realize the importance of voting and exercise the vote for rationally selecting the efficient man. January 25th is observed as “National Voter’s Day”. An honest and efficient man voted by people can lead the country to national progress quickly. The international sand artist Sri Manas Kumar Sahoo supporting this view wants people to take keen interest in voting and exercise their valuable rights to vote. He has prepared a sand sculpture of EVM machine of 4ft height, even 5 tons of sand and assisted by his student’s Monalisa and Itishree on golden sea beach of Puri at the distance of 65 K.M from capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar. The message given by him in this sculpture is “YOUR VOTE IS YOUR VOICE”.
