Sand sculpture on Earth Quake

At least 50 people, including 23 in Sikkim, have been killed in a powerful earthquake on Sunday. Over a hundred people have been injured in the quake which has left a trail of devastation in Sikkim.

Today International sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand culpture on Earth quake where he shows face on a broken wall and two hands with a message “OH GOD WHY ON EARTH ME ?!” at Puri beach of Orissa.

Through my sand sculpture, I awalyas try to spread message to help these victims.Please help the earth quake victims more and more, said Sudarsan.

He used around 6 tones of sand and took 4 to 5 hours to complete. The students of his sand art Institute join hand with him. Also lots of tourist from different places togathered on the golden beach of Puri beach.

Before Sudarsan also created many sand sculptures on natural calamities like, Tsunami,Earth quake, cyclone etc.

So far he has also participated in more than 47 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country. Sudarsan is the brand ambssdor of NALCO. Through his art he helped the tsunami victims in India, save the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles and spread awareness of the dangers of HIV-AIDS and polio. Pattnaik also running a sand art school at Puri Beach in Orissa.
