And also this day is referred to in India as Gandhi Jayanti. The Day is an occasion to ‘disseminate the message of non-violence, including through education and public awareness’. The resolution reaffirms “the universal relevance of the principle of non-violence” and the desire “to secure a culture of peace, tolerance, understanding and non-violence”.

The artist Mr. Sahoo has prepared a sand sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi give the peace message throughout the world. This sculpture is the height of 12 ft, using 20 tons of sand and continuous labour of 24 hours. By preparing this sculpture the artist also wants to give a message “International Non Violence day”.
