Herbal medicine Dasamula for Lord Jagannath

The herbal medicine is being prepared by the family members of Late Pandit Sadashiva Mishra, near Labanikhia Chhak on the occasion of Chaka Dera . Dasamula, a special medicine is to be administered to deities for their cure from illness. The medicines are prepared from herbal ingredients ( Bela ( ବେଲ – Aegle marmelos ), Gambahri ( ଗମ୍ଭାରୀ – Gmelina arborea ), Pateli ( ପାଟେଳି – Stereospermum cheonoides , Fanafana ( ଫଣଫେଣା -Oroxylum indicum )  , Agabathu ( ଅଗବଥୁ – Premna integrifolia ) , Krusnaparni ( କୃଷ୍ଣପର୍ଣ୍ଣି – Uraria picta/ logopoides) , Gokshura ( ଗୋଖର – Tribulus terrestris), Shalaparni ( ଶାଳପର୍ଣ୍ଣି – Desmodium gangeticum ), Ankranty ( ଅକ୍ରାନ୍ତି – Solanum  xanthocarpum ) , Pateli ( ପାଟେଳି –  Stereospermum cheonoides ) and Labingkoli( ଲବିଙ୍ଗକୋଳି – Solanum indicum) by the Royal Physician ( Raja Baidyas ) .

1. BELA :- ବେଲ ( Aegle marmelos ) generally uses for Cooling, Digestive diarrhea, dysentery, acidity, constipation, digestion, diabetes, deodorant, mouth ulcer, general debility
2. Gambahri :- ଗମ୍ଭାରୀ – Gmelina arborea ) generally uses in Ayurveda for stomachic, galactagogue laxative and anthelmintic; improve appetite, useful in hallucination, piles, abdominal pains, burning sensations, fevers, ‘tridosha’ and urinary discharge
3. Fanafana :- ଫଣଫେଣା – Oroxylum indicum ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Tonic, Stomachic, Astringent
4. Agabathu :- ଅଗବଥୁ – Premna integrifolia ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Rheumatism, Neuralgia, fever, Cold
5. Krusnaparni :- କୃଷ୍ଣପର୍ଣ୍ଣି – Uraria picta/ logopoides ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Cough, Fever, stimulant, laxative
6. Gokshura :- ଗୋଖର – Tribulus terrestri ) generally uses in Ayurveda diuretic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory treatment
7. Shalaprni :- ଶାଳପର୍ଣ୍ଣି – Desmodium gangeticum ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Chronic fever, Snake bite, Leprosy, Tonic
8. Ankranty :- ଅକ୍ରାନ୍ତି – Solanum xanthocarpum ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Piles, fever, asthma, cough, diuretic, sun stroke
9. Pateli :- ପାଟେଳି – Stereospermum cheonoides ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Cold, cough, asthma
10. Labingkoli :- ଲବିଙ୍ଗକୋଳି – Solanum indicum ) generally uses in Ayurveda for Bronchites, itch, asthma
