Today is the Akhaya Trutiya, the auspicious day of Hindu culture and tradition. In Odisha this festival day is observed in many ways. It is basically one agricultural festival, farmer ceremonially starts sowing seeds in the field, especially paddy it is called as ‘Muthi Anukula‘ or also known as ‘Muthi Chhuan‘ in Western Odisha.
Akhaya Trutiya is the beginning of Chandan Jatra Of Lord Jagannath, which is observed in various other shrines Of Odisha. The day is the beginning of the festival Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath, in this auspicious day the carpenter start building the cars(‘Ratha’) Of Lord Jagannath, Balavadra and Subhadra.
