Darshana of Jagannatha during His stay at Gundicha temple is known as Adapa Darshana. It is said in scripture that darshana of the Lord Jagannatha at Gundicha temple is equal to ten darshana at Nilachala Temple (main temple). On Ashadha Shukla Navami, the evening darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra at the Gundicha Temple is known as Sandhya Darshan or Navami Darshan. Although devotees have the opportunity to behold the deities every evening during Their stay at the Gundicha Temple, the evening darshan on Ashadha Shukla Navami holds special religious significance. For this reason, it is traditionally renowned as Sandhya Darshan.
According to the traditions of the Shree Jagannath Temple, this sacred evening darshan is regarded as especially auspicious and spiritually rewarding. Following the Rath Yatra, when the Holy Trinity resides at the Gundicha Temple, thousands of devotees gather on this day to seek the Lord’s divine blessings.
