On the eve of Shiva Chaturdashi, a very important religious function of Hindus the international renowned Sand Artist Sri Manas Kumar Sahoo has prepared a sand sculpture at the golden sea beach, near light house Puri at the distance of 65 K.M from capital of Odisha Bhubaneswar.
Lord Shiva though describes as the lord of destruction but in fact his actions are always for the peace, happiness of mankind. For the betterment of all, he without any hesitation drank poison which could otherwise destruct the whole world. This aspect of putting oneself to danger for the sake of betterment of others, has inspired the sand artist prepare this sculpture. He aspects that each of us should try for the betterment of the society. Then his own happiness self interest at the cost of others put the society in danger. Save the nature and protect the world from destruction the original philosophy of Lord Shiva. Which the artist Mr. Sahoo wants us to follow. He has therefore prepared the sand sculpture of Lord Shiva sitting at the sea shore of Puri offering his blessings to the people for their welfare, peace &happiness. The sand sculpture is of the height of 10ft by using 20 tons of sand at a labour cost of 8 hours. The artist Mr. Sahoo in prepare of this sand sculpture was assisted by Monalisa Sahoo, Chittaranjan Mohanty, Itishree Sahoo.
