Sand Art “World Earth Hour Day” at puri beach,Odisha by Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo

World Earth Hour Day was started from Sydney of Australia in 2007 and it has now spread worldwide in 7000 cities and towns. Earth hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organized by the WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature). This movement is mainly movement light and to protect unnecessary wastage of electricity for which it is observed of one hour as a token of symbol of protecting unnecessary wastage of electricity. Despite all kinds of efforts to increase the production of electricity, increase in population and rapid industrialization, sterility of electricity becoming more and more acute day by day. To make the people consult of proper utilization of electricity, on the eve of “world earth hour day” in worldwide on 29thMarch, from local timing 8.30p.m to 9.30p.m, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights.

International Sand artist Sri Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand sculpture at the golden sea beach, near light house of Puri, and distance of 65k.m from Bhubaneswar of the capital of Odisha. In support of this movement and making more and more people conscious of this fact. As make this effort in this sculpture. The sculpture show the electric ball surrounding by the numbers of building in a city, indicating that one should be conscious for the utilization of electricity and a message communicated by him “Save Energy and Save Earth”. The sand sculpture is of the height of 7ft by using 8 tons of sand at a labour cost of 8 hours.
