World Tourism Day Sand Sculpture at Puri Beach by Manas Kumar Sahoo

Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated “World Tourism Day” on September 27. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide.

The worldwide celebration of world tourism day on Dt. 27th Sept has also encouraged the reputed international sand artist Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand sculpture at the golden sea beach of Puri, Odisha and distance of 65k.m from Bhubaneswar of the capital of Odisha.
The artist Mr. Sahoo has prepared Christ the Redeemer, edible Eiffel tower, pyramid, tower of Pisa, Taj Mahal etc. about 20ft long, and by using 20tones of sand. In this sculpture Mr. Sahoo has shown different reputed monuments & towers of different countries to indicate closers of each other by development of tourism. By preparing this sculpture the artist also wants to give the message “One Billion Tourists, One Billion Opportunities”.
