World Water Day tries to remind people about the significance of fresh water and to promote sustainability for fresh water resources’ management. World Water Day was officially assigned to 22 March in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly.

Each year World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of freshwater. For 2015 this will be: Water and Sustainable Development. To realize that water is life and not allow in wastage of water the reputed international sand artist Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a beautiful sand sculpture on the eve of “world Water Day” in the golden sea beach, near light house of Puri at the distance of 65k.m from capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

His sculpture shows a drop of water holding many people. It indicates “use water wisely” and the existence of people depends on the water. The height of this sculpture is 6 feet, utilizing 6 tons of sand by continuous labour of 8 hours .
