Shri Alarnath Temple at Brahmagiri is located on the left side of the road leading from Puri to Satapada in Brahmagiri town, situated 20 km from Puri town. The temple has a rekha vimana, pidha jagamohana, and natamandapa. The present temple was constructed over the ruined temple of the 13th century A.D., of which only the pista and pabhaga moldings of the vimana and up to the jangha portion of the jagamohana remain. It is a protected monument under the Orissa State Archaeology and the Endowment Department, Government of Orissa. Shri Chaitanya visited this temple during his stay at Puri in the early part of the 16th century A.D. Festivals like Anavasara Yatra, Snana Ekadasi, and Bada Ekadasi are celebrated on the temple premises. Ceremonies such as marriages, thread ceremonies, and engagements are also observed here.
