Chaiti Mangalabara Puja observed during the Chaitra month of the Hindu calendar, Goddess Mangala is worshiped for five Tuesdays of the month. The puja marked by fasting of women who pray to the Goddess for the well being of their family.

Chaiti Mangalabar or Chaiti Mangalabara Osha is the vow observed on Tuesdays during Chaitra month in Odisha. This brata is dedicated to Goddess Mangala. Mangala is known as Mangala Chandi is one the war Goddess of Shiba. Goddess Mangala occupies an important place in the culture of Shri Jagannatha.

They used ships called Boitas to travel to distant lands such as South-East Asia to carry out trade.
