The large no of skilled craft people living and working in this village and Mr. Das came up with the idea of having local artisans teach their skills to contemporary artists from other parts of the world. And in exchange, have the international artists share their ideas about contemporary art with villagers. Who can incorporate these ideas into their traditional Art. Thus RIACE was born in 2010.
