Sand sculpture on the eve of World Tourism Day by Sri Manas Kumar Sahoo

The worldwide celebration of world tourism day on Dt. 27.September.2014 has also encouraged the reputed international sand artist Mr. Manas Kumar Sahoo has created a sand sculpture at the golden sea beach of Puri, Odisha and distance of 65k.m from Bhubaneswar of the capital of Odisha.

Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization has celebrated “World Tourism Day” on September 27. The purpose of this day is to raise awareness on the role of tourism within the international community and to demonstrate how it affects social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide. The development of science and technology & speedy transport has brought the people of different nations to come closer to each other. This has resulted in people moving from state to state as tourist to come closer and know each other’s habit, taste and culture.

The artist Mr. Sahoo has prepared Statue of liberty, tower of Pisa, edible Eiffel tower, big Ben, Tajmahal etc. about 12 ft height, and by using 20 tones of sand. In this single sculpture Mr. Sahoo has shown different reputed monuments & towers of different countries to indicate closer of each other by development of tourism. By preparing this sculpture the artist also wants to give the message “World Tourism day”.

The nice idea of this preparation is appreciated by lover of art and culture, all visitors & tourist & people of locality.
