Indian Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has won the Public prize at the Copenhagen International sand sculpture championship/ Fesival 2012 held in Denmark, which was held from 31st May to 9th Sep. During this festival visitors voted 80,000 votes for different sculptures. Sudarsan’s sculpture “Save the Ocean” won by 23, 000 votes.
Including Sudarsan 9 artists participated from different countries in this championship, they are Canada, Russia, Bulgaria, Ireland, England, Germany, Ukraine, and Gahanna.
Artists were starts carving sculpture from 24th May to 31st May then the festival was opened for the public and will continue till 9th Sep.
Pattnaik created a 20 Feet high sand sculpture on “Save the Ocean”. After getting this information I am very happy that my sculpture won two valuable prizes.
He has been doing sand art from more than 20 years at Puri beach of Odisha. So far Sudarsan has been participated in more than 50 sand art championships and festivals and won many prizes for our country.
